Good place for a meal with kids

just fancy something different tonight for that unique family time which is rare for us ? wondering if anyone recommends a good place to eat down south on a Friday with the kids....just wondering if there might be somewhere good I've missed thanks so much

We have a 4 year old and we like Mick O'sheas, Cafe Primo, Fasta Pasta, Hogs Breath - all really good with kids. We went to Amalfi in the city this week for dinner in the evening that was amazing food and great for kids.

Hmm, we tend to go sushi or mexican as we all like both. Whereabouts down south are you heading or how far do you mind to travel?

 

If undecided and wanting to make more of an evening of it we sometimes head to Glenelg so we can wander down Jetty Rd, along the beach (weather permitting), chill on Moseley Sq for a bit and then wander round and check out the menus and see what appeals. There are a couple of Mexican places there we like and also other options. Some can be a bit pricey, its more a being seen than the food IYKWIM.

 

There are loads of dessert options then with all the ice cream and gelato places around. We like one of the gelato places on Mosely, in one of the cafes opposite the tram stop there.

 

I like some of the wineries down Maclaren Vale way and cafes around Port Noarlunga way for lunch but we don't really go to the southern suburbs for meals out in the evening. Tends to be the city or Glenelg for us for nights out.

Depending on how south you are The Beach Hotel at Seaford is really good with children and The Deep Blue Cafe down on the front at Moana has a great feel (although the food is a little hyped it's not bad) or Oscar's in McLaren Vale does good pizza and Red Gum chinese in McLaren Vale does an all you can eat buffet on Friday nights which isn't bad (although you might want to phone just to make sure).

 

If it's just the grown-ups ever The Barn has a delicious menu.
