Primary School music

We are looking to migrate to Adelaide around the end of this year or next year. We've got two daughters, the older one is very interested in music and dance (it's hard to tell with the younger one as she's just a couple of months old at the moment!). I was wondering if there are any primary schools with very good music programs (and dance would be a bonus!), preferably both instrumental and choral. I tried looking at many various school websites but many don't really give much information. So far some better ones seem to be Seacliff, Hillcrest, and maybe Brompton primary schools (though some others do look promising). Private schools are out for the time being as we don't know what shape our finances will be in by that time. By that same virtue, expensive neighborhoods would be out of the question as well. I already know of the specialist music high schools at Brighton, Marryatville and Charles Campbell, but would like to get my daughter on the right path in her primary years first. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Charles Campbell is actually a reception to year 12 school, although I don't know if the specialist thing runs from primary school. They also do dance and drama I believe. However I personally would not send my kids there, simply due to long term reputation (my OH is from Adelaide) and I have a friend who's daughter went and hated it. She has since moved schools and is much happier and doing much better academically. That's not to say it is a bad school, just not right for all kids.

Thanks for the heads up. I had heard somewhere that Charles Campbell had a bit of a reputation for being not so good. I don't think the specialist thing is done in primary school, but I wanted one that actually did a good amount of music (as opposed to some which don't even have a specialist teacher for music or simply just have a bit of choir with no instruments). I've found that Paringa Park and Flagstaff Hill both seem to have decent musical opportunities based on their websites, but as I'm still in Malaysia at the moment I have no idea of the quality of those schools.
