Hi all, we are relocating to Adelaide in 2 days time and will be staying in North Adelaide to start with. We are planning to buy a car but would you be able to recommend a place, ideally not far from CBD or North Adelaide where we could get a booster seat for our 6 years old. thank you

I'd either order online and collect in store or if you order from some stores, over a certain price they do free home delivery.

For example, this is a highback booster car seat and its a good price ($50 less than the RRP).

You could probably click and collect at the Target in the CBD.

Of course, if you want to research results on car seats as to safety etc in testing and ease of fitting, you can read up on all the seats here

There's a baby shop called YCN on Grote Street which is in the CBD (close to the Central Market) or the RAA at Mile End have a safety centre where you can buy car seats and have them fitted (because they have to top tethered not just held in with the seatbelt; although this isn't too tricky to do yourself).

I found the RAA only carried pretty expensive car seats and didn't have a great range. And that when I read the crash test reviews etc and looked at prices of car seats and so on, it was over $150 difference between the then highest rated, available in Target or the 3rd highest rated and available in the RAA shop (and elsewhere). That might have just been the RAA shop we went in to but the big price tag for an average performing car seat put me off buying from them.

You could always hire one until you find the one your satisfied with.

We used Jen at Adelaide Baby Hire on a few occasions. Shes fab! We are hiring off her again for next week. She has an agreement with a few of the Hire Car companys at Airport wereby she installs it prior to you picking your car up.
