Willung high

its in willunga :D and is still quite a country school. It has a mixed background and has a disadvantage rating because of social problems caused by long term unemployment. A lot of local kids go to Tatachilla instead. Cos its a country school they have agriculture on the curriculum. When the little kids from the new developments in the south reach high school, the school will gradually change due to family expectations. saying that if a kid has goals they will work towards them anywhere.

Is this quite recent info Rachie? I have heard what you say also, but wonder how much of this is hanging on from the past? That is how it usually happens for a while.....a bad rep hangs on longer...

its a couple of years old, Tatachilla has become really popular in the last 5 years and has grown in this time. Mclaren Vale high is having to close cos the kids are going elsewhere. Schools do change, so it's probably best to have a look, it will change as the population changes. It's still pretty small as state highs go, which can be a plus.

Hi,

Does Mclaren have a High School ? I did not know this. Not that it will make a difference if its closing, we have a few years before we have to start looking at High schools.

JPT01 - Good to hear you are happy with the primary school, we are going to have a look at Willunga and the other local schools for Molly to start Jan.

Just need a local Occasional Care centre for Ruby.

Hope someone can answer Sarah's Q about the High school, Im interested to know what its like, its the local feeder school.

Tina

McLaren Vale does not have a high school, they go to tatachilla, seaford or willunga. Tat is really popular and as religious based not that expensive. Willunga has a bit of a tough reputation as stated before but do not know anyone that goes.

We were looking around for areas to live but need a decent school for our 14 year old so we were looking to live around a decent school. We are drawn to Aldinga for the reasonable prices and the beach, can anyone recommend a good high school in that area? Any information gratefully received.
