  1. We have broken our lease in flagstaff hill as we wanted to move elsewhere. The property is available from sept 8th and the landlord allowed us to have a dog. It's 3 bed, heat/aircon in all rooms except the bathroom (but that does have heated laps so not too bad). Good size lounge & kitchen/diner. Good size front and back garden, gardening done by landlord, garage, parking. Opposite a little park and right near the shops. Also very close to flagstaff hill primary. PM me if you want to know more - we can put you in touch with the landlord directly.
  2. Fantastic news! Hope the school works out for her and really pleased you have found one you think will be right for her! Great news! X
  3. Yes feel awful actually as he has been really nice but we are going to be breaking our lease as the school we like for our kids is zoned so we need to move to another area ASAP to get them in! So if anyone wants a 3 bed in flagstaff hill that allows pets let me know and I can give you details ;-)
  4. Hi minkyme29 just read your post and although I can't help as I don't know much about the high schools yet I just wanted to wish your daughter luck with her dance training and also say how lovely it is to hear parents supporting dance (I am a dance secondary school teacher and there are so many kids who opt or want to opt for dance but their parents are really unsupportive of it - it drives me insane!). I hope you found a good school with great dance provision :-)
  5. We have a rental which didn't say pets were permitted but we just asked and they allowed it (we are the same as you we had to come first and our dog is going to join us in October). The landlord is even putting an extra gate onto the property for our dog!
  6. Hey wen - November that's fab. Weather will be great weather too :-) van is currently in Melbourne waiting for us to arrange pick up! Can't wait to get it!
  7. Hi we are not 100% sure where we are going and when but if it starts to look more definite I will let you know incase you haven't found anything ;-)
  8. Hi Debz, just wondering if you got the answer to any our query and if so do you have any tips/info to help me I am just in the process of applying for jobs as a secondary school teacher in Adelaide and haven't a clue what I am supposed to write (I would normally write a 2/3page letter but not sure they are after that!). Did you you manage to secure a job in teaching by the way or are you still looking? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
  9. I am off there now. Hope it's not too late and there is still stuff going on!
  10. Going to try to break my lease in the very near future. Just trying to find somewhere to go to first but we are hoping to be going in September(ish). If anyone is looking for a rental (unfurnished) in flagstaff it's 380 per week, near shops and golf course. Cul de sac (about 10 houses) with a little play park for kids at the end. Great location for the primary school. 3 beds, L shaped living room (good size) and L shaped kitchen/diner. Laundry room. Plenty of storage cupboards. Out house for storage. Car port. Good size front and rear gardens. Ducted heating/AC. Patio doors from dining room and lounge out to back garden. Even has a lemon tree with masses of lemons (great if you like a G&T!)
  11. Hi everyone. Not sure if it's any use to anyone but we will be looking to break our lease in flagstaff hill pretty soon. It's a 3 bed, decent size, not very modern but white everywhere so quite neutral. (Except the bathroom is pretty dated!). It's really near the shops and opposite the golf course. Little park nearby. Only reason we are breaking lease is because we like Willunga and are going to try to get a rental down there pretty quick so we don't have to put our kids into school/kindy here only to move them in 6-12 months time! We we also need to find a rental in Willunga so if anyone is moving out of that area I may be interested in taking over your lease - Mrs Bon Jovi you still trying to find someone to take over? What size/condition/price is it? (I will PM you). Also having lived there - what do you think of Willunga - we think we will like it there but always nice to hear from someone who already lives there. Good luck to everyone trying to break their lease (bizarre how this is just the norm here!)
  12. I have just arrived in adelaide! I will try to make the meet but am just going to find my way first so will let you know xxx
  13. I'd like to meet but don't arrive til Monday and don't think I will have transport for a while so may need to miss fist one depending on where it is and when. At the moment all I I is is I will be staying in flagstaff hill and don't know how far or what transport links are like to the mentioned areas! Up for meeting up another time though. :-)
  14. Thanks everyone. So I will know to avoid collanades if we live there then ;-) sounds like it may be our type of place (not the shopping centre!) and it's ok being outside the CBD as we are teachers so don't need to work in the city. DH has had some interest from some of the schools nearby so hopefully he will manage to secure some work at one and then we will make a decision on living - for the time being we are renting in flagstaff hill so will just stay there until work is sorted. Cant to wait to actually be there so I can decide if I agree with DH or not! Thanks all x
  15. Thanks everyone I really appreciate this. sounds up our street especially with us being near to retirement at 40 Adelaide now
