  1. Hi Duckie, seek.com.au or indeed.com.au are the best places to look for direct jobs. Markets vary depending on your speciality. Disability is going through a huge individualised funding change, and so that market is huge at the moment in SA. (Different in different states though) I agree that not for profits can offer good roles, I haven't worked for the government here, but some of their training I've attended has been terrible! I work as a Disability services manager for a not for profit. Love it.
  2. Hi Terry / Wayne, We came over in July 2012, and back then PEER didn't have a log book! It was 5 days intensive exams. The NRAH is the biggest job here at the moment, the new Hospital in the city. Try Nilsen Electrical (lead elec contractor) or Red Appointments (main agency supplier) to see if they're taking on Trades Assistants at the moment? I know they need a lot more A class sparks, and they currently have over 200 on it. It it feels like forever before you have your licence but it won't be long! Hang in there. *other half is a project manager for Nilsen. Not working on the hospital though.
  3. Hey Sallypink, Myself and the OH would love to meet up for a Sunday drink this week... Where are you thinking? We've been here two years now, live just south of the city, have no kids... And love wine. ?
  4. Hi Mike, Like most folk we know, we watch the City games at home on Foxtel. It's rare there is one at a good kick off time over here, it's often easier to stay up at home or to record it if it's a late Sunday game and you have work Monday. 7 weeks, you must be excited! Grange is a lovely spot. Me and the OH are from South Mcr so if you fancy meeting up for a drink and maybe catching a game when you get over, let me know!
