I can say the negativity on here DID almost make me think twice about coming to Adelaide!!! But I bit my tongue & ignored the negative vibes & like you Mandi, I stuck with my dream & came to see how it is for myself & now I'm here & very happy! I don't have PR or job yet but I remain hopeful & positive. Some members need to find better things to do with their time instead of dampening the dreams of others!!

Hey mate, not got a job or anything lined up yet, joined SEEk and been looking around for what jobs are on offer, not applied for anything yet as when we arrive we got plenty to sort out and we want a few weeks of chilling out, looking forward to having a bit of time off as not really managed a holiday last year with all that was going on, money was a bit short as well with paying for visa, ielts, medical, police check, vetasses, agency and finishing house ready to get it on the market and sold... looking into doing a course in Site coatings inspection NACE LEVEL 1 + 2 and then a welding inspection course and getting out of engineering and electrics altogether.. I just wanna get over there now and get all this behind me and start a new life.. regards Leigh

Yipppeeeeee!! Case officer was finally granted early am yesterday (wednesday)...followed by a call from my agent early that very same evening informing me that my visa has been granted!!!!!!! unbelievable!!!! Adelaide here we come!...

Hi all, I'm Leigh a newbie on here so thought I'd introduce myself... I'm planning on moving to Adelaide in March this year with my partner & cannot wait!! I've applied for the skilled regional sponsored 489 visa & currently at the painful & inpatient stage of awaiting a case officer to be assigned! I'm a controls technician by trade but been a maintenance engineer for the past 17 years. I'm a gadget guy & my hobbies are radio controlled man toys including rock crawling, helicopters & planes, tropical marine fish keeping, snorkelling, scuba diving, hiking & DIY. I am very interested in joining or setting up a rock crawling group once in Adelaide, as well as picking up another Skyline GTR. Looking forward to meeting new people & would be great to hear from fellow members with similar interests. Regards, Leigh

Hi Wayne, I've just joined this forum, how far are you with everything? I'm also a controls technician, just about to sit my vetassess in September with view to apply for the 489 visa & looking for info about the requirements to work in Adelaide as maintenance/controls engineer etc, any help will be appreciated.
