  1. Hi. We are moving over in October from the UK. We are a family of three, with a 2 year old daughter. We are looking at the Seaford area to start with, but will make our minds up when we arrive. It's nice to see other families wanting to meet up and also the women wanting to meet up. My wife is worried about the social life and meeting new friends, so its good to see that there are people in similar situations and will hopefully make things easier for us.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. I have booked some appointments with a few of the above companies, so I will see what the differences between them are!
  3. Hi all, I am moving to Adelaide later in the year from the UK. I have type 1 diabetes controlled by insulin. I have been doing a bit of research on the web about prescriptions, doctors appointments etc and I have read so many different things! I just want to know how does the health system work with regards to insulin (free in the UK) as I know you have to pay for it in Australia? And I have read somewhere that you can get discount from certain pharmacy's if you are a member of Diabetes Australia. I will continue to research, but any personal experiences will be a great help! Thank you.
  4. Hi all, I am making the move in October and I have been looking around at shipping companies to send my stuff over with and I am interested in any recommendations or personal experiences that people have had. I don't think I will have enough for a full container and it will be shipped from the West Midlands if this makes any difference! Thanks
  5. Hi Spanners. I live in Worcester and I am planning to move to Adelaide by the latest of January as I have to enter before mid Feb. I know it is a long wait, but if you still have stuff that needs shipping by then, then maybe we can sort something out!
  6. Hi, Thanks for that. I can't remember exactly which one it was, but this looks good. I have just been reading through as many lists as I can find to make sure I have covered everything. It is a very daunting time, but just as exciting. I've been waiting so long, I just can't wait to move now!
  7. Hi All, I have been a member for a while now and have been using this forum along with others during the whole visa process. I was finally granted my 489 visa at the start of March and we're looking at making the move to Adelaide in January next year. I've just been looking through some of the other threads regarding shipping, flights, etc and there seems to be a lot of useful information. One thing that I am after though, if anyone can point me in the right direction, is a check list of things to do/prepare running up to the big day? I have seen them previously, but never took a copy and now cannot find it anywhere. Thanks for all the valuable information on this forum and hopefully I can contribute in some way to help other prospective migrants!
