  1. I've just moved into a dog friendly house. It's not the best for my dog as back garden is mostly gravel. But at least I have something for her arrival. Hopefully will find something more suitable by end of 12 month contract. Thank you everyone for your advice and support.
  2. Thank you everyone for your advice, I struggled with this site and have only just regained access, thanks to administrator. I am still looking for suitable accommodation and Wilma (my dog) is booked to fly on 25th May. Regards Kestral
  3. There is a shortage of mental health nurses, you should not have a problem in finding work via agency, I contacted agency before arriving and completed their references and competencies on line, only leaving practicals to complete on landing, which they arranged quickly for me, I wish you both all the best
  4. Hi Pete and Niccy, I've been in Adelaide since end of September 2015 and I work for healthcare Australia, this agency also has a section to their site in supporting you to find full time positions as well as 3 mth contracts. I currently work in various locations and they are now getting to know where I like to work. My hours have varied from 62 hrs one week to one shift on a poor week, but this has only happened once in the past 8 wks. Its a case of the agent getting to know you and what you are looking for, check their page out again and you will see that they also give assistance in finding full time positions. I have noted over the last few weeks that the main hospitals have their own pool of nurses and have been asked to apply with two different hospitals, however I'm told by permanent staff that it is normal to be in the pool for 18mth or longer before they offer you a full time position, so I would recommend NASA Healthcare Australia as with this agency you are mobile and able to see what the areas have to offer. I have not found any full time positions since arriving but have not been short of work a part from one week since I arrived, you maybe a newly qualified but you also have a wealth of experience to offer working in the current areas you work in, you need to highlight this, I wish you both all the best
  5. Nurses landed end of Sept, currently living in a none dog friendly house, is looking to rent a dog friendly home from end of May 2016, when my dog arrives (small staffordshire terrier), she is a timid thing as is a rescue dog, she was covered in cigarette burns when I rescued her, she is not an outdoor dog, she is spayed and happy to sleep after her morning walk, she is not a barker either, unless someone is smoking near her, is the only time she barks. Trying to find a dog friendly rental close to the beach. I am prepared to move to Any part of Australia to achieve the perfect home for us. Happy to pay a higher deposit and rent in advance, as for me, its more about finding somewhere suitable for us, currently live in Glenelg, but other areas such as Brighton, Seacliff are also perfect, as currently work mostly at Flinders Hospital. But I will move jobs, if need be, and to another state, to find a perfect for 18mth to 2 year let, before I buy my own property. If anyone hears of anything close to the sea please give me a shout.
  6. Hi Bel, I also arrived on my own and I'm not much of a drinker either, I do drink but not a lot, I arrived end of Sep and live in Glenelg
