Dear all, Would you please share or point me to a thread that has details about medical insurance that one needs to take while in SA on a 489 visa as i understand that medicare is not covered and has to be self arranged. Also some advice on what plans works great for a family (2 adult aged < 40 and a child aged 2+) would be really appreciated. Many thanks for your help in advance. Hi Sophie91, I currently live in Singapore with my family and its a great place to plan for holidays with lots of places to see and has direct flight connections from UK and Adelaide. You can take a ferry to Bintan, Indonesia (1hr journey from Singapore) and relax on beach resorts. You can google and get all info about this. Hello Barry/Acescribe, Invitation is usually granted between 6-8 weeks for SA, i got mine in 8th week in Oct 2016. Due to holidays coming up it would just add couple of days extra. All the very best to you both

Hello Everyone, I have just joined the forum today but have been reading details here as a guest while i have been going through my SA state nominated 489 visa processing. It's really great to come in touch with people who are sailing the same boat or seek advise from people who have successfully sailed through.
