  2. Wouldn't cross the road for one if they were free.......with one of the highest levels of obesity in the western world, I'd say this is the last thing Adelaide needs.
  3. Oh I think you'll find he'd got a bit of form http://www.mamamia.com.au/news/rodney-clavell/#DyFqwkzwuU3FRXS2.97 Shame the police didn't do a proper job 10 years back.

I think it was obvious to most, especially those that live in this area that this takeaway was certain to fail. Wrong location, wrong time, far too much established competition, too expensive ...... combine that with an arrogant attitude, very slow service and a big lack of interest from the native Aussies.....I could go on here. Feel sorry for those that have lost their jobs, one member of staff that worked there was always very pleasant and helpful. One bit of good news though, a Nepalese restaurant and takeaway has opened where the old pizza hut used to be.....fantastic, far better than pizzas and chips:cute:
  6. Maslin beach is lovely, but does have similar problems to the one's described at Tennyson. One day while collecting shells with my daughter, she shouts "look dad, a carrot" and sure enough there it was, a big carrot on a beach......I thought that was unusual, but what was even more strange is that on closer inspection I could see it was inside a condom ........there's some odd folk out there:rolleyes:
  7. Know what you mean and then it doesn't matter how beautiful the beach is, a selfish few can spoil the day for many. We went to Port Noarlunga and decided to go right of the jetty for a change, bad mistake....seems to be a unwritten rule that dogs run free there. Twice while sitting on the sand below the rocks we had wet smelly dogs bounding amongst us, covering our beach towels with sand and water and scaring the children:mad: Had the usual response when I challenged them....he won't hurt you, he's just being friendly are you stupid?.....we don't care ffs keep it on a bloody lead like the law clearly states.....think I might have to start retaliating soon.
  8. Lost count of the number of times I am happily walking along with my kids, minding our own business, when someone's dog comes bounding up sniffing at us, jumping at us and generally being a nuisance. Of course, you get the usual "don't worry, he won't hurt you" from the owner, but that is NOT the point. Not everyone wants a dog jumping up at them and their kids! I have nothing against dogs, or their owners, but there needs to be some common sense used. If you are in a public place (i.e. a park, beach etc), keep the dog on a lead so it can't bother other people trying to enjoy their day.
  9. It may help, the opt out option is there for the UK.....probably too little too late though.
  10. This announcement has more to do with the Nigel Farage effect than actually giving a toss........the main political parties are starting to panic now at the amount of votes they will lose to UKIP come election day. Labours record on uncontrolled mass immigration is a complete disgrace, they should be tried for treason imo........of course the Lib/Con government despite the promises are hardly any better.
  11. This is worth a read if you are thinking of bringing your cat with you to Australia http://www.teatreegully.sa.gov.au/webdata/resources/files/DEH_Booklet_-_Cats_and_Wildlife_-_how_you_can_protect_both.pdf
  12. I think its fair to say most dog owners clean up after them, but with over 40% of households owning a dog that's a lot of dogs and even if just 10% didn't clean up that would be a lot of mess. By the way I've seen people exaggerating the pick up, some look like they almost want to shout out I'm picking it up you know
  13. Had a great afternoon down Christies Beach today, had my first swim of the summer......32 degree's and waves fantastic, sea was a bit cold though:eek: Only disappointment for me was the amount of dog feces, quite a lot on the beach, but worse was the shocking amount on the grassed area between the surf club and the ripple & swirl café Had to keep telling the kids to keep off the grass.....not 4m2 was free of ****e and people were sitting eating there too.....such a shame.
