  1. Hey Lucy!!!! I came over alone from Nottingham nearly 2 years ago. I used to live in Carlton and work at Radford Road... It's sooo much nicer here. I don't live too far away from Westlakes if you fancy getting a wine on Sunday let me know.... You'll soon make a load of friends, it's really quite easy starting again... Emma
  2. Just a suggestion, as I think you should still be allowed a credit card as you never actually send you were sending these items.... How about go to a representative shop here and showing them your statement. Cover the rest of your details. This should be enough to prove to them that they are in the wrong..... Good luck... Also I have been on Virgin for the last 10 months and I regularly phone the UK, mobile numbers and all and I have never paid over the $29/month charge...
  3. Sooooo... There have been a lot of responses to this post from far and wide... Some more local. Why don't we kick it off???? Any suggestions? I work a lot of weekend but am off the 7th Jan... Probably going to be sunny. Any others free?

    Funny Movies

It has to be Superbad, hilarious... Being bought the Inbetweeners movie for my b'day, which is going to be funny... Or you could try bad taste or brain dead as New Zealands strange funny!!!! Sorry mine are a bit different to the other suggestions... By the way Monty Python rules.
  5. Hello Afternoon wine sounds great. I would be up for that... 34 and live Grange way..... Just let me know when... And providing I'm not working I'll attend... A drink in the sun. Lovely!
  6. I reckon I beat you all... At work by my lovely customers I get called a white Dog C***.....! I like to think that time and effort went in to this abuse, most inventive... Ha ha..... Also calling people spastic has been around for years, it's meaning has softened over the years and it is not a direct hit on the disabled!!!! Being called Christianly would offend me more!!!!!!
  7. I luckily so far haven't had an ant problem, but in UK did ant got some ant powder and it seemed to do the trick they never came back and that was really cheap.... I recently forked out $200 for a termite inspection to be told it was a 50/50 chance that I might have them. Due to this I got the whole house done at a cost of nearly $2000 and asked at the end of it if they had seen any termites or found any damage only to be told none.....I guess it's better over here to have protected the house, but it's an expense that could have waited.... Check out the groupon, scoupon, cudo sites as they sometimes have deals..... But don't fork out too much as I'm sure ants don't take that much fighting.... Good luck in getting a cheap resolution!!!!!!!
  8. Hey They don't have front facing cameras here, pretty much the pics only show the reg... Request of pic just defers the time. You actually have to say who was driving the vehicle otherwise YOU get the fine and points... For points... How fast were you going???? If you tell me how many ks over I can tell you your points a couple of ks over is 1 point only.... You get up to 15 points before losing your licence.... (If I remember rightly)
  9. Hey You are coming at the right time of year.... Its going to be hot hot hot!!!!! I came over alone about a year and a half ago and I think it's a great little place..... There are those places around the CBD (central business district) as another poster suggested but if you fancied a beachy area with not too much effort to get in to town you could try Hen;ey, grange, semaphore. Trains run till about 12:00 pm and taxis are about $30 to Semaphore the furthest place out of the 3..... Henley's pretty cool but maybe expensive..... Just don't go Northern suburbs way... No offense to anyone just for a lone female it will be best to be near/ have access to the city for nights out..... Hope you have fun... Not long now!!!!!!!
  10. I'm glad you went to the doctors, as although your syptoms seemed a little above and beyond.... And I thought perhaps you were about to start seeing a medium.... Please don't diagnose yourself from the internet.... My sister does it all the time and there is not some deathly disease she's not yet had.... Doctor kind of knows.... Computer does not know... I do long hours and random shifts and it is just not good for the body/brain.... Sometimes those floaty light feelings just mean you need, sleep, decent food and a break... Giving up smoking will help... I know it can be hard.... But you could try!!!! Hope you start feeling better and which route was it you did.... Might start getting the train... he he he
  11. I am petrified of spiders and in my first week of being here a red back crawled past on it's thread a cm in front of my face. I then bought a house in March and on the first day there was a huge wolf spider on the front door and then tonight a huge wolf spider on my out house window frame in camouflage against the frame. After much screaming and brooming I managed to get it. Also when I visited Aus a few years ago I got off the plane at Sydney was too early to book in tp my room so went for a walk and a spider fell out of a tree on me and bit me.... Don't panic though, I'm sure this is not normal human spider connection ratio.....
  12. I lived across the road from the cricket ground and also just down from the cop shop.
  13. Wow who would have thought there would be so many. I lived in WestBridgford then Carlton before moving here last year!!!!! I know where I prefer.
  14. Having dinner the other evening and talked to the couple next to me who were over from Melbourne.. One half was from Liverpool but 16 years here... Told me about a quaint village called Huish in Somerset that they visit when they go to U.K... Just where I went to school....
  15. Hello I came here a year ago, I wanted to go to Perth, but my job brought me here. I landed in the winter and initially I thought why have I come here. It is a little backward, the trains aren't great, it basically seemed like you really had to drive everywhere to get around. Then as I got to grips with where I was I realised there was so much going on wherever I was I could, drive, bus it or get a cab (quite expensive). It is kind of 80s, especially work computer wise, clothes shops aren't great...... But I totally loved the fact that when I went for a run along the beach, it was beautiful. I went to the hills, that was beautiful, the city was great, small but loads going on... All within a short journey. Then there were the festivals and the food and wine markets.... Each day that went past Adelaide grew and grew on me.... I now think that it is a pretty fantastic place and has some great places to go out, do activities you wouldn't do at home (unless you lived near the beach) and I live in a pretty cool area. I can get plane tickets to Melbourne and Sydney cheap if I book in advance, have the hussle and bustle, grab some cool clothes then return to my faithful homeof Adelaide, where I can walk down the street without being barged and talk to people at the bus stop, normal people that just fancy a chat... Im a towny from the UK but I am now loving Adelaide. Everyone has a different opinion and the only judgement you can go by is yours.Hopefully you will choose it. Enjoy!.... By the way depending on where yu choose to meal I sometimes thing the Adelaide locals are a bit too dressed up, but hey ho, just my opinion...
