  1. We are moving interstate and unable to take our lovely spa with us. Just over 1 year old, 5 person spa with LED lighting, Jets, Blowers, lockable lid, steps, spare filters and remaining cleaners etc. Is chlorine free and very easy to maintain. In as new condition. $4800 but is negiotiable. Buyer would need to collect (from Hackham) Thanks for looking!
  2. totally agree....if it wasn't for hubbies job taking us interstate would not be interested in moving...I love it here in hackham...bigger blocks, very quiet and good access to everything...to be honest, its paradise compared to where I came from in UK!!!!
  3. hi, we are looking to break our lease from early may as moving interstate....we rent a 4 bed house in hackham $380 per week and have had our dog for 3 years here....I know hackham isn't ideal for everyone, has a bad rep but we have had no probs...lots of dog walking, off leash dog beach 10 mins away in osullivan beach and 8 mins from beautiful port Noarlunga beach etc etc..... for you would be great as straight on main south road to flinders would prob take 15 mins (give or take traffic).. its not advertised as yet as we have no firm moving date but if interested pop round and have look and then nearer time, contact our agent. house is in good condition, modern with lots of parking, secure back yard with huge covered outdoor area, dishwasher and lots of storage. seriously, hackham is not bad.....its very quiet and close to everything!!
  4. they are about....I work as a vet nurse and just last week took a call from a client whose cat had killed a brown snake in her back yard in Morphett Vale.......we referred her to emergency clinic...But is just to let you know that they are about!!
  5. me too...been here for 2 years but with full time job, kids and husband working away my social life is also a bit sorry for itself - had little time to socialise so would be good to get out and meet some other people...I love my kids but sometimes adult conversation is very much needed!!!!
  6. hiya if you are in the south, try panthers down in o'sullivans beach, they have a good senior team who just got promoted to the premier league last year, senior coach is danny graystone and he organises a lot of uk lads to come and play....will try and get you contact numbers or have a look at website
  7. just be vigilant ...and to other posters, from a vets point of view its really useful to know the type of snake as each will use a different anti-venom...then most common we see are the browns (and don't be fooled, the babies are more venomous as they have a full store of venom! although at this time of year, all will have full supply of venom as will have just come out of hibernation).....in recent training, we learnt that around water is where the tiger snakes like to live....from the animals that we have seen, most tend to be bitten at home where snakes come into yards....again, urgent vet treatment is vital, esp in dogs and as diane said, the cost of treatment can be expensive (the cost of antivenom is phenominal!!) - hope this helps...feel free to mail me if I can help with any pet issues!
  8. hi just thought I would add to this...I am a vet nurse so we are now aware of snake season......O'Halloran hill seems to be quite a common spot for snakes and last week already had a possible snake bite in a cat......just be aware that dogs can be dead within 20 minutes of a snake bite so its best to be prompt and seek treatment even if not 100% sure....cats are more resilient and many will survive without any treatment......hope all your pets keep safe!!
  9. hi hope you get on ok with ur new job, where did u grad from in UK?? am not a vet but uk VN working locally.......if theres anything a vet nurse can help with just let me know.......been qualified (and registered in uk) for 20+ years and working as surgical nurse for small animal practice. lots of things the same......the thing that caught me a bit were that some of the things that are POM in uk are not here.......and the lack of suppliers......things that we took for granted in the uk but not available here!!! let me know how you get on!! kathryn
  10. hi chrisyes found knights boxing gym down at o'sullivans beach and he has been there since early this year, its run by ex-pro boxer from the uk and our son loves it there - he has had several fights since being here and doing well, he won a state title 2 weeks ago will hopefully be fighting for a national title in february!!!! how long have you been here???
  11. hi, just come across your post as was browsing for advice on our own health insurance!! I am a UK veterinary nurse and been here since december, we were discussing pet insurance at work and i would recommend pet plan - simply because after browsing the veterinary index for insurance, it seems that pet plan are the only company i could find that offer a "lifetime cover" - this means that if you submit a claim for example your cats eye ulcer, next time you come to renew your policy, that particular condition should not be excluded!...no other pet insurance companies i found offered this....alot of them will exclude conditions that you have previously claimed for. i hope this makes sense!
  12. hi, we are from bedfordshire too!! i have been using a hairdresser who does it from her home (garage converted to salon) she charges around $60 for half head foils and cut...last week i paid $18 for a dry trim and eyebrow wax...... my two boys use a local barber and they pay $17 each.... prices vary hugely here....hope that helps! kath
  13. thats good to hear and would save alot of hassle initially!!!.....it should only be until one of us gets home so would work ok...thank you for the info!!
  14.
