  1. Hey Kadina, Hope you get on O.K with SA water and the blockage isn't your side? The "Government Inspection Point" in general can be found to the front of your property,(depending on were you live)? and if you lift this up and it is full of lovely dirty water then it is SA waters problem. If its NOT SA waters issue Give "Ken Hall Plumbers" a call,Ive heard they are very good.Oh because I work for them!!!!!!!Not being Biased or anything!!Good luck.
  2. Hey David, Try seek - Trades and services - Automative services there is currently 4 positions that may be suitable. Not trying to get rid of you or anything!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck
  3. Hey Macklins, Hope your are settling in O.k? Unfortunatley you have to be quite persistent with thease companies.Dont just send you resume, keep on their cases and show that your keen!!!Follow up with phone calls etc.I work for Ken Hall, nearly 2 years now and it took me a while to get a foot in door but I think its been worth it.I just kept hastling him for months then I gave up,then he emailed me to see if I wanted a job!!!!! I have worked for Plumbfast as well but they are based up in Salisbury. Just renewed my Plumbers license, around $4500 later and 18 months of doing night/weekend trade school but well worth it in the end at TAFE and Training Prospects. Me and my fam have been here just over 3 years and we also started off in Moana.Beautiful down there. Just yell out if you need any more advice etc.Good luck mate. From Paul Jackson
  4. I work for Ken Hall plumbers. We do roof repairs etc etc. pm for phone number
  5. I agree with some of the comments made such as "you can never be to careful". There does seem to be a higher degree of racism here and there are a small minority of very selfish and self minded people here, but you would get that which ever country you live in.We do have a few VERY GOOD Auzzie friends and they are just awesome to be with and we have a lot of fun etc.We have done things here, as a family, that we would never of even thought about doing back in u.k. In general,I think us poms are more hardy and forgiving!!!We have had some frustrating times when there didn't really need to be and a lot of "What the hell just happened there?"times Otherwise,Living the dream!
  6. Off to the city for the celebrations, concert and fireworks tomorrow and then BBQ with friends on Monday.
  7. Glad you have settled in well. We bought a house in Aberfoyle Park last year near the campus schools and we love it here too. Our eldest will be off to High school in the new year and our twins love the school that they attend. We have been amazed by how many koalas that we have seen around Aberfoyle Park.
  8. Hi Calum My son is currently in yr 6 at primary school but if he was in the Uk he would have just gone into yr7 like you. He is very bright and he didn't want to do yr 7 here so he sat the IGNITE test at Aberfoyle Park High School and we are pleased to say that he got in and will now miss yr7 and go straight into yr8 in January. Maybe if your parents contacted the high school that they want you to go to and explain that you are already at high school in the uk they may take you early. Each school is different and you will just have to wait and see. My son currently goes to high school one morning a week to do maths as he is so far advanced I think his teacher has given up on him so the high school very kindly offered to take him for a lesson a week to keep his brain challenged!!
  9. I think i made an appointment, they took copies of qualifications and asked a few questions and then a couple of weeks later i got a Level 4 certificate.
  10. I went to skills recognition on Currie Street and they gave me a level 4 for my NNEB. It might depend on how many years experience you have etc as to what they give you. You can then do 3 modules and a short placement to gain your diploma in children's services which is well worth doing. You will also need to submit some of your NNEB work as (RPL) recognised prior learning in order to gain your Diploma.
  11. Pedal Prix in Murray Bridge this year is 21st and 22nd September. Starts 12 noon on Saturday and finish on Sunday. There are approx. 196 Trikes registered from all over so its gonna be a big one.
  12. I work as a casual Early childhood worker in local Kindys and I normally work the hours my kids are at school. If staff are away sick then the Directors are generally pleased for whatever hours you can do. It's hard to get permanent work in kindergartens. Just let yourself be known and get your name on the relief list and people will start calling. It took about 2 terms before I got a contract somewhere and now that contract ends this week so I will be back to relief work again.
  13. Hi Suzi, we use an electrician called Richard Halliday, he's based in Hallett cove and very reasonable
  14. Hi Shelley, I have heard that you are not "Legally" bind to south Australia even though the state has sponsored you.we are on a 176 PR state sponsor visa. I have had a few pomy friends were it hasnt worked for them here and moved interstate before two years up.Not sure about centerlink payments in Perth you will have to investigate more. Good Luck Jacksons
  15. We are looking for a babysitter too. We also have 3 children and live in Aberfoyle Park. Mainly looking for a Saturday night. We did pm someone on the forum but they never got back to us so looking again! Suzanne
