Dear All,

I am planning to apply for SA SS. In the application form they ask..

1.Please detail what sort of research you conducted and your understanding and own analysis of the employment prospects and opportunities that may exist for you in South Australia.

and

2.What research have you undertaken of the job market in South Australia outside of your nominated occupation? Detail what sort of research you conducted and your understanding and own analysis of the other employment prospects and opportunities that may exist for you in South Australia.

Can anyone please suggest how to answer these questions.

Thanks.

Hello,

If you go on the internet you will find the information you want. Newspapers are also helpful. If you know some people in SA, they can assist you in giving you information of events taking place in their area.

Good luck with your sponsorship applicaion.

I sent out 100s of e-mails to companies -sending my c.v and telling them I'd be over there soon. Got about 6 positive responses and put them in my application.

Our agent said sa wouldn't look at you without them.

Hi

We looked at loads of press articles relating to trade and found ones that were positive to our trade and quoted them (for example, my hubby a joiner and found one that said property boom so trade is in demand), and also enclosed copy. Put that had registered with employment agencies and sent e-mails to so many companies (these were all listed with copy of e-mail sent attached). Also did say had registered on Poms in Adelaide which is a good way to ask people about job market. Said had looked at Yellow pages and found so many companies within the area we were looking at that specialised in trade going on. Also if you look on this website you can find statistics on your trade and how the trade is growing http://joboutlook.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx

Hope that helps.

All you need to do is to demostrate your knowlage of the situation on the ground. You need to point out that in addition to other forms of reasech you have also tested the job market (i.e. you have sent some applications)

I got my nomination on 19 May. So i am converting my 175 to 176.

We just did ours in standard text size 12, both points were mixed together in the one piece just put at the top of the page what question it related to. We got ours within a month of submitting so must have been okay.

We were told by our agents 400-600 words for research into Job Market and the research into the market outside nominated occupation was not told a number so just blended into the the main one. We managed 483 words. Did you get my private e-mail

I think basically they want to know you looked at other jobs apart from your own. You saw what we put, didn't go into great detail. At the end of the day if you willing to make a go of a move to Australia they want to know that you not just going to wait until a job comes to you and you will take any job going until the right one comes along. The website I quoted as hundreds of jobs in different fields. My hubby currently works a CNC machine for a boat building company so he looked at things like that. Did you do any other jobs, eg whilst at uni or college. Could put that you have experience in this so therefore could look for jobs in that sector to keep you a float in Australia.

Hope what I put makes sense

Some more suggestions please.........

We showed research into other jobs that are closley related to hubbies occupation (he's a brickie) and also advised that he would do labouring if necessary. We also wrote that he would be willing to retrain in another field if it meant he would be able to secure a job. (which is honestly what he would do)

Hope this helps.
