2nd stage spousal visa (offshore) paperwork?

My 2 year date of applying for my spousal visa is coming up, so expecting the paperwork for stage 2 to arrive sometime in the next month I think. Does anyone know what forms you need to fill out, if there are stat decs involved, and if you have to write statements again? Just wanting to get some of it done ahead of time if so.

Thanks!

Hi Suzer

I cant help I'm afraid but as I will be going through the same thing I too would love to know what the process is like!

Also just wanted to say thanks - I read your article "The Mariage' the other day and it was like reading my own story...and as a result of reading it my other half now realises it not 'just me' and we are investing in 2nd car!

Lol that's great:) It's horrid to be without transport, and as much as we would like to believe otherwise, our other half's don't always understand.

Will give a post with some answers when I get them.

Hi

Mine (subclass 100) was due in October last year and I gave the Depart a call cos I hadnt heard from them (moved a couple of times and did inform them). They were surprised I hadnt got the paperwork and sent the paperwork out straight away.

Once you received the paperwork (7 working days from date of letter) you must respond within two months.

Included with the letter is

Checklist for the Applicant to fill in

Acknowlegement card (to let you know they have paperwork)

Envelope to send it back

Form 101 Police Records check ($43, copy of driving licence)

Checklist is pretty straight forward

Visa Applicant details

Dependants who migrated with you

Sponsor Details

Any travel out of the country (I had three weeks back in UK at Christmas)

Children born after visa grant not previously included on your visa application

Any additional information

Then you need

Statutory Declaration from Sponsor (form supplied)

Statutory Declaration from the Applicant (form supplied)

Copies of documentation to evidence changes since visa application lodgement (for example if your passport has changed or been extended please enclose a copy of the bio-data page from your new passport)

If you have lived in Australia for a total of more than 12 months in the last 10 years you need to have a Federal Police Clearance Certificate (form supplied)

Things were easy to do, for our statutory declarations, we found a Justice of the Peace online and he came to our house signed it and would not except any payment for it.

Sent documents by express post on 15/12/08

Received Visa Grant Letter back in January :jiggy::wubclub:

Now have Permanent Visa Labels in mine and my daughters passport:v_SPIN::v_SPIN:, Citizenship just 18 months away.

Regards

Sandra

My hubby did his a few months ago ......... all straight forward as Sandra said. We had to print off our own Fed Police check forms though. It's all online together with the relevant fees. Will edit with website later (gotta go out in a mo).

It was a bit odd having to do the stat dec as you have to say how you share financial responsibilty, housework, socialise etc etc. We had a laugh over some of that. You have to supply the names and contact details of two people who know you and are prepared to do a stat dec for you, in each application. None of ours were contacted and we used my kids who are adults and independent.

JP's are not allowed to charge for their services! There's usually one at your local library, police station or community centre.

The only thing that worried us was that we sent it off with the acknowledgement card, and that didn't get back to us before the final date of application had passed. The card was stamped with a date of receipt about 4 weeks after we had posted all the docs off! I think it took about 7 or 8 weeks to go through and you don't HAVE to get the visa sticker in your passport any more, but you can CHOOSE to. Hubby did.

We popped up to town to get it and like Sandra (above) he has 18 months till applying for citizenship.
