visa validation

Hello all,

I'm sure this has been addressed before but can someone please clarify? What is the timing for you to validate your visa (i'm applying for 475)? Is it generally one year from the medicals, one year from the police certificates, or whichever is the earliest?

 

I need to get a police cert from Canada, which takes average 4 months according to the police's website, so I thought I'd apply for this a lot in advance, then ended up getting it in a few days.. Great but I haven't even got an CO yet and starting to worry that this is going to leave us with a very little time between the visa grant and visa validation.

We on a 176 visa. We got our visa on the 23rd July and have until 13th July 2010 to activate it. We had our medicals on the 22nd June and our police checks were sent on the day we had our medicals.

 

Not sure if same for your visa but maybe.

If i remember right its whichever is earliest date? I.E our meds done june 08,visa granted july 08,but initially had to have validated by june,good luck btw
