Referred Medical!!

Hi, could anyone please tell me what you need to do when you have your medical referred? I was checking our status page (a daily obsession of mine!) and was delighted to find that my medical along with my 3 daughters have all been received and finalised. Unfortunately, scrolling down a little further I discovered my OH's says "medicals have been referred to Australia for further processing". What does this mean? I haven't received an email requesting he attends for further tests. Does this mean we are likely to be declined? Any advice, please!!

Hi Glenda,

I have heard that having one medical referred seems to be common practice. Not sure why but I think this is normal as it is happening to other people I know of. Just waiting for Oz to recieve mine this week and will let you know.

I expect more people on here would shed some light on this. So many stresses with the visa process.

Hi

Does yoor husband have any medical problems or seeing a specialist. Mine got referred because I was under a consultant for a problem with my neck. We got my consultant to write a report about my treatment and the likely outcomes. All was fine, just took a bit longer than normal.

He has had high blood pressure for years which is controlled with medication but nothing else. He isn't under a specialist for anything. I just find it frustrating that I haven't received an email requesting him to go for further tests or a letter from the GP or anything. We are just left in limbo and worried that we will be rejected!!:(

I was in the same position as you, and was really worried about it. I didn't have to go for any further tests, they just sent my medical to a panel doctor. As long as you are not going to be a strain on their Medicare(NHS) system you should be fine. Hope it all goes well for you.
