Hi all

 

I've been over from the UK with my family for a few months studying in Adelaide, and I'm looking into the idea of setting up a company to help take as much stress out of settling here as possible at relatively low cost. I know it proved harder than we realised when we were so tied up with packing, visas and so on. I was hoping you might share some experiences with me! The kind of things I'm interested to know are:

 

Did you have a job arranged before you arrived?

 

If so did your employer help with the migration process?

 

How did you decide where to live?

 

With hindsight would it have been useful to have more information in advance about:

Different suburbs - their location and character

Best schools

Childcare etc

 

How about information on local recruitment agencies etc?

 

Was anything else particularly hard, from getting a phone line to buying a car?

 

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
