How Long till you go

Can anyone help, when you are granted the visa how long is it till you have to go, and can you go validate visa and then come back home to sell house etc, as we have not done a thing and i know it will be a while before we hear anything, and we dont want to do anything until we know for sure

With our visa we have a year from the date of the medicals been passed to go to Oz, if for any reason we cant make the move a definate one in that time, we all have to go through immigration in Oz before a specified date and then our visa is valid for five years.

Hi Donna1,

 

As Will has said you have 12 months from the date of your medicals to 'Validate' your visa. We validated ours in October and are back in the UK now sorting things out ready for the final move, and trying to save up the money we spent on the validation trip.

You only get 6 months to validate it if you get a cat b on you meds like we did.

We did our meds in Feb - hubby got a cat b because some scarring showed up on his x-rays. Got our visa in May but had to be in oz by september. Fortunately we were sold and ready to go.

as will said you have a year to validate then we have to reside there within 5 years but we are all done and will b there on 30th dec "176 visa pr"
