:chatterbox:is a 457 visa the same as a 495? i have so many numbers going round my head i am totally lost

No they are completely different. Although all the visa catagories will change on the 1st so will have new names and numbers so might be worth looking into it after the visa changes come into effect at the weekend

 

457 is a temp long stay business visa - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/sbs/index.htm

 

495 is a temp skilled regional visa - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/495/index.htm
