Passport question

Hi,

Only just starting the process, but when do we need to send our passports off to the DIAC?

Cant seem to find the answer on the website.

Hope to apply for a 176 visa around May (when OH's quals and SS have come back approved). Want to go to Europe over the six week holidays - will they expect our passports at the start of the process or right at the end?

We did not send our passports off we had them photocopied and endorsed at the solicitors,

 

You should be ok, we are on the skilled 176 visa stroll at the moment

You wont need to send your passport of until visa is granted.

We had to send copies of passport, but just sent photocopies that had been signed by solicitor. Your actual passport doesnt need sending for visa until it been granted. I posted ours on the Thursday and they were back on the following Monday. Cost fortune though as was sent recorded and had to put self addressed recorded envelope inside (money well spent though).
