How long before we get a case officer?

Hi,

we lodged online 175 application on 20th Dec '09. Got the automated email the next day. Just wondering how long is it usually til you hear anything else.

We're wondering when our meds police checks will be asked for and trying to guage roughly when we can expect to be in Oz. Is it usually a few months until CO picks it up? Anyone know?? We were thinking we could be there in Adelaide around Sept /Oct time - does this sound realistic?? Hubby is a nurse, but no state sponsorship. Just doing it ourselves. Any thoughts appreciated.

The answer depends on lots of things so i dont think there is a definitive answer.

I've pasted our timeframe below. Not sure if it helps though as we applied for a 475. Hope everything goes well with your application.

 

Our timeframe: 2 adults, 3 children (11,10,8)

Visa Granted Dec 09

Hi Hazel, We applied for 175 visa ourselves in on 15 december 2008.Got case officer on 9 September 2009 and visa was granted on 29 october 2009. We emmigrated to adelaide on 3 December 2009. Good luck!! You will find very littlte happens for a long time and then everything happens at once!

Thanks for all your replies, just to update - we got our case officer on 23rd feb. We'll be having our meds in april and then the wait will begin again.

I'm guessing it will be a few months between meds and visa being granted though

Shouldn't be a few months, ours was 1.5 monthsish and we had 1 medical referred, so don't worry it'll be with you before you know it.
