Any over 60s out there?
We have just started the process to apply for a Contibutory Parent's Visa (143?).
Has anyone had experience of this type of visa and how long did it take? We have been told 20-24 months so is this the 'average' time? - It seems ages to wait, especially when you are getting on in years and want to spend as much time as possible with family!

It will be about 14/15 months untill you get a case officer and then it will take about 2/3 months untill you get your visa.
There are two sites that you should view they are both to do with the 143 visa only and if you have any questions they will answer them all.

One advantage you have is that by applying for your visa now the £ = $ should be in a better position in 20 months.
When we applied 20 months ago the £ = $2.2 its down now to £ = $1.65.
It might seem like a long time but we found that it passed quite quickly.
