176 Visa query

Hi, does anybody know how long it takes for a 176 visa from start to finish?

We have recently returned from Adelaide (Feb) previously on a 457 sponsored visa that didn't work out, couldn't get another sponsor so stayed on a tourist visa for 6 months. Our immi agent is looking at putting us through on a 176 permanent sponsored.

Any help or advice would be welcome.

We have been told 13 - 18months approx.

TRA 6 weeks approx

SS anything from 6weeks - 6months

DIAC 12months approx

We are in process of 176 ourselves and this is info agent gave us.

Our 176, from submission to the DIAC of the application form through to getting the grant took just over three months. We were CSL though, so unsure of how CSL being revoked will impact on application times now especially with the introduction of the State Migration Plans.

 

We started gathering all the information, taking the IELTS exams etc, at the end of November last year so the total process took us eight months.

I think with all these new regulations out it is suppose to be taking longer,but who knows.

We would love ours to come through in 8 months.The waiting is a killer and the State Sponsorship is still on hold.All we can do is WAIT and WAIT and WAIT.

hi all im doing the SS 176 and i started in november 2008, tradeassess took longer as the dates for the practical where a long way away, state sponsorship took 10 days, after all the forms where signed and returned to agent we submitted our 176 aplication on 1st FEB 2010 and led to believe that 6-24months for main visa is about right and are just 6 months in.

We have been waiting 7 months now for our 176 from DIAC application. We were also CSL. I rang them 2 days ago and was told we would probably hear in about 8 more weeks!!

Some are processed quicker than others. On what basis im not quite sure.

Our time line is below. Hopefully wont be to much longer.
