Hi, just trying to get things organised and wondered how much medical info we need to take with us. We don't have any illness or regular meds but have had a couple of hospital stays in the past.I spoke to my surgery today about our plans to emigrate and they are talikng about photocopying every last sheet of medical history on us.Perhaps it's just me but that sounds a bit extreme.I can think of more exciting things to fill our suitcases.

If i remember correctly we didnt take any medical history. The medical itself was a standard medical, hight, weight, refelexes, listens to your heart and lungs. The best thing to do is when you book your appointment, ask the receptionist just to be on the safe side.

Hiya. I wouldn't go that mad if you don't have current medical conditions. I have asthma and just got a summary printed by my GP. It listed major ops, allergies and current meds, last 4 trips to Drs in detail and overview of my history. Made it much easier when I went to get inhalers when I got here and only 4 sheets so light enough to fit in my luggage.

we didnt bother at all and had no problems regisering with a gp here. Our uk gp wanted £50 each for the records and we had better things to spend the money on.

Hi

The only thing we carried with us was a letter from the Dr showing the asthma meds our Daughter was on, her inoculation book and a specialist letter about an op I had 6 months before we left UK. That was it. I’ve never had a problem registering with a GP here so you should be fine. Save the space in your case youll need it!!!
