From my research having a medical refered does not always mean that you get less time to validate but in some cases yes they can give 9 or 6 months to validate.

Hi Claire, im worried if we only have 6 months as that would mean we would have to validate by 4th Oct. We are booked and paid for to go to Minorca in july/aug dont think work would be too impressed to take more time off!! suppose if house is sold we could just move. Does anybody know why you have reduced time?? just interested!

Hello, ive spoken to people that have had reduced time and it seems to be if you have to sign a medical declaration form and or at your COs discression.
Ive also have spoken to 2 people with the exact same condition and 1 was given 12 months and 1 was given 6 months so it seems there is no hard and fast rule.
The only thing that everyone has agreed on though is once you have a validation date it is near on imposible to get it changed.

They don't actually tell you why, we just assumed it's because I was CAT B as seen lots of others posts suggesting the same, we can't do the validation in 6 months as we went to florida recently so financially not possible so just going to move, they did say that the date was non negotiable. I think it also goes on the date of you police checks so if you have done these early the maximum time you would have is 12 months from the date they were done. Claire :)

I see you didnt wait too long after your meds were referred so fingers crossed the wait wont be too long.
