new points system and ss

Hi all,

 

we are in the process of trying to get SS and lodge 176 before July deadline

 

If we actually succeed in this I was wondering what would the impact of the new points system be on us?

Will it make a difference if my occupation is taken off the SMP? Or the SOL4?

Or will we be ok because we will be under the current rules?

Hi Pixie

 

If you submit your visa application on or before 30th June 2011 then you will not be *directly* affected by any changes to the Points Test, the SOL or the SMP that take effect on or after 1st July.

 

However you might be affected indirectly - eg DIAC might introduce their umpteenth change to the pecking order for prioritising the order in which they will process GSM via applications.
