Hi guys,

just after some advice as we cant speak to our emigration adviser until he returns to work on wednesday and my partner just recieved his much anticipated IELTS result.

We applied for a skilled trade visa initiallly (he is a plasterer) and managed to end up 5 short of the points we needed.

He was then advised to sit this test which he did last week and the results are as follows,

speaking-9

writing 6.5,

listening-6

reading-6

We were given an overall of 7 so IS THIS ENOUGH???

argh! someone help:arghh:

cant wait til wed to find out!

Hi,

I don't think it is enough, to increase from the 15 you get for being from the uk you need to score 7 in each of the 4 units, maybe now he has taken it once he could improve if he took it again. oh dear i think thats us screwed then,

Comes a point when you cant keep dishing money out hoping to get through.

He doubts he'd ever do better at this test as he has been a plasterer for 22 years and left school at 15, he feels he tried his absolute best

Ah well we'll try not get too despondant before we speak to our advisor.

Hi, the agent may have thouhgt ielts was the quickest way, but there could be other options, don't give up if it's what you really want.
