Police Checks

We have been advised by friends that we should re-apply for our police checks prior to leaving the Uk for Adelaide as our would be approx 8 months old when we arrive.

 

Can anyone please confirm if this is necessary as we have a 136 Permanent Visa and our friends are on a Temporary Visa so we are unsure if this is only relevant to them.

As far as I am aware you only apply for police checks for the purpose of your visa so if you already have your visa then you don't need to do another one. You have to validate your visa a year from the date of your police check or medical whichever was first.

:huh:Have to agree with tracy ,you only have to do your police checks as part of (the last bit) of your visa application, and that is it . They are valid for a year so your visa will be started from this date of the meds if they were done first, hope this helps Cheers Graham
