police checks

Hi everyone,

 

Just wondered if anyone could tell me how you get your police checks done. We are currently awaiting our case officer and therefore want to quickly find out so I know what to do when the time comes.

Contact your the police station for the forms, or you may be able to download them online. These are valid for a year so only do them when you need them.

Also when you get your VISA grant you have 1 year from whichever comes first police checks or meds....we had to redo our police checks to give us a bit longer after the mrs smashed her leg up which made her unable to fly....

You can get the form from the ACPO website. Just print it off, fill it in and send it off! Easy peasy!

Can I ask possibly a silly question?!.......

Im the main applicant so is it just me that has a police check done or do I need to complete 2 forms, one for me and one for my partner?? Im presuming I dont need to do one for my 14 month old?!

It's one for each applicant, application forms can be printed from here http://www.acpo.police.uk/NationalPolicing/ACROCriminalRecordsOffice/PoliceCertificates.aspx

We didn't do one for our 15 month old!

Lisa....that was going to be my nxt question......about who has to do them.

I am the applicant....so am I right in thinking obviously I need to do one, and one for my husband and my 18yr old daughter??? sorry for appearing a bit thick here folks!!!

Pretty sure its everyone over age of 16, I had to do one for both my 17 & 18 year old.
