I know how it feel when you are in such a situation. Just want to let you know I applied for VICTORIA state sponsorship on 2nd November 2010. My expectations were high but I had a real setback when VICTORIA rejected me after 6 months.I had 6 years of experience in World's top Fortune 10 company being a member of Australian Computer Society too. I was broken but I got myself reassessed, applied to ACT, Canberra and later on applied SA state . I got approved from ACT, Canberra and I am sure SA will also approve me. SO ALL IN ALL WHAT I WANT TO SAY IS THIS IS NOT "THE END". Wait for other states be ACT, VIC or QLD etc, Polish your resume and do some certification to upgrade yourself. VIC and ACT will open new state lists in a month or two..Go for it..God bless you and chin up. All the best and let me know if you need any help.
Thanks and regards

Some other people from other countries i have read on Poms in Oz have got there accounts qualifications ok'd because as part of becoming qualified you have to have 3 years relevant experience.
Thanks to everyone for your kind words and encouragement.
After Uni you have to do a three year Chartered Accountant traineeship which basically means you are doing the work of a qualified accountant but you are paid less while you sit the exams. I thought that in the context of "work experience" I had it after I finished my degree so I counted traineeship work experience in the three years required.
Looks like they need post professional qualification work experience for which I have three years but I had a break for ten months for maternity leave. If I wait the ten months and then reapply we won't make it before the new rules come into effect on 1 July 2012 so that isn't an option.
Looking into WA now as I am on that SMP but looking at all of the info we will probably be way worse off financially there due to high house prices, cost of living. Had our hearts set on SA.
Other option is going down the 175 route but someone told me that it really isn't worth it because it sits in a queue forever and takes a ridiculously long time to be granted.
Don't know what to do but thanks again for your kind words.
Well fingers crossed then i get through, i sent my paperwork to the CPA on saturday so hopefully i should know by the end of the month
Big Bob you are doing a fantastic job of the tracker.... I am so excited because I think I'll be next on the list to change to purple .... fingers & toes crossed... I'm thinking Friday may be my lucky day :v_SPIN:
