I think you'll find you will drop back to stage 2 when your case is allocated. Mine was at 4 for a while, and then went to 2 when I had a case officer appointed. You will get an email advising you that you will be checked against the nominated occupation, and they will proceed with the documents provided, or they may suggest another occupation. Then you go to stage 4 again.....and then mine stayed there for ages again, but the status changed to allocated at 2, and in process or assessment at stage 4 I think.
I should think both of you will be fine. Mine took about 11 weeks all in and just under 10 from when the docs arrived. I applied under group A, but the ACS deemed my degree as having a minor in ICT so changed it to group B, but as I had 10 years exp, it was no problem with the 6 years needed.
Chris, that's really useful information, and just checked the ACS website and I've been bumped to stage 4......so at least "things" are happening! Good score on the IELTS there too :D
Yeah, excellent info Chris. I got that email really early on though, the one - you're being checked against your nominated occupation - guess I got lucky - or they felt sorry for me after the issues with my docs not turning up for two weeks :)
Hi Mark what is your status of skill assessment now?????
9 days later....and I hate this waiting!
me too mate, me too.
I don't know why but I check every day - it's only been a few weeks :)
Trying to get everything else sorted in the mean time - getting P60's from previous employers / writing relationship statements as me and the missus aren't married / copying, printing and scanning every document I can think of that might get asked for....
Ha ha - I am exactly the same, checking it every day! Almost feels like life is in limbo until the powers that be make a decision.
Sounds good to be doing prep work - I am doing similar stuff, mainly trying to get out of my fixed rate mortgage deal so we are in a position to potentially sell the house without having to pay a crazy £5500 redemption fee. I could tear my hair out with it at the moment though. It's no wonder the house market is at stand still.
Going mad trying to find P60s, but it looks like a pay slip is required for DIAC I think. I don't have my offer of employment anymore, as I've only been with the one company since 1999.
5.5k is crazy for a redemption fee, no way am I going to fix the mortgage now.
I went crazy too, checking the ACS, I always felt a bit let down especially when I had seen some assessment come through within 5 or 6 weeks.
It seemed like a good mortgage at the time....
Should be okay though - I have a remortgage in process and the bank have agreed to drop the redemption figure if we complete before 10th November. I have a feeling we will need every penny we can save if we make it "down under"!
