Meet And Greet Services

Has anyone used the meet and greet service on arrival in Adelaide?

They supposedly meet you at the airport, sort our a short rental etc.

Can anyone lend any advice on this service. We are arriving in August an obviously cant set up a rental from this end.

have a look at this site http://www.immigration.sa.gov.au select skilled worker then services, the meet and greet service is different to the on arrival accommadation service, although you may get both if your lucky.

The Meet and Greet service meet you at the airport and help you get to your rental. They don't arrange it/ sort it for you. They will take you to the nearest shops so you can get what you need for that vital cup of tea, take you into the city to get a tax file number and go through all sorts of stuff you need to do.

 

They are volunteers and the couple who did this for us were great - Pam and Tony from Victor Harbor.

 

You can book this service at the same time as applying for OAA. They are seperate from each other so if you don't get OAA, you will still get Meet and Greet.

Meet & Greet is different from OAA. If you don't get OAA then you still can have volunteers meet you at the airport.

I have a friend who does Meet & Greet. They meet you at the airport, if you have hired a car they'll show you the way to your rental ( or where ever your accommodation is) or get you a taxi to your destination. Once there they'll sit you down and explain what you'll need to be doing over the next few days to start your life here. They are very helpful and give you all the forms and advice you need. Its well worth booking them, even if you don't get OAA.

we had OAA when we 1st arrived and had a really bad time.the place we stayed was clean, basic and in a really good area..( glenelg )but we had the neighbours from hell..drugs/beer ect ect..but like people say its pot luck

Hi Louise, Not sure on the info for the meet and greet, were thinking of using H2H http://www.h2h.com.au they offer a similar sort of service, they come highly recommended, very dedicated to what they do. Take a look

We are going to be using the Meet and Greet offered by SA....! Have heard good reports about them! We too looked at using Home2Home, but agreed that the SA service is free, and we arent taking alot with us!!! Although their site does look impressive!
