:notworthy:Hi, does anyone know roughly how much it costs to ship house contents (average 3 bed semi) with or without a car aswell. Considering both options but it is far too soon for us to get actual quotes as we want to move over 2009, just a rough idea would allow us to consider all options, thanks for your time, kind regards Sharon.:notworthy:

Hi Sharon, we had qoutes from PSS, Robinsons and anglo pacific for a 40ft container, in came in at £5400 from PSS, a 20fter about £3500/4000 nearer the time get a few quotes in work out what you want to take, were taking the lot and a trailer tent hence a 40ft'er.

Hope this is any use to you

Hi Sharon

We are in the process of moving in the UK at the moment and we had ********* out the other day to do our pre move out assesment and we asked them about shipping to Oz, and based on the contents of our current house (3 bedroom semi) he reckoned we would need a 40 foot container and the cost would be around £5000/£5500 for a door to door service. He also said a 20 foot would be around £3500/£4000. These costs seem to be very similar to what Andy had from PSS, but it is definatly worth shopping around and getting different quotes because they all offer different services.

We have used loads of different removal companies in the UK as Steve is in the Royal Marines so we move about alot so we will get quotes from quite a few of them. (It'll be a bit different having to pay for it when we move to Oz because steves job always pay for it over here!!!!)

Hope this is of some help

Vicki

:DPrice for a 20' sole use container which gives you aprox 1100cubic feet come in at about £3500 to £4000 which a standard 3 bed semi should fit in. Not sure about the car though. Hope this helps . Cheers Graham

:) Hi Andy, when are you going over? and where are you hoping to settle, we are thinking around Flagstaff hill but by the time we get there we are worried that the house prices will have gone even higher and we might not be able to afford much, thanks Sharon.

Hiya,

Our best quote was from Pickfords - as the advert says "we are already there!"

We were quoted for a 20ft container £3200. This was around 3/4 full with our stuff and included the boxing up of a motorbike as well.

Hope this helps!

Hi sharron, Im sure the house price increase is a worry to o lot of folk on here, we have set a realistic budget and sticking to it, the dream of been mortgage is long gone, (by us anyway) some may be fortunate enough to have a massive pot of cash, we are looking at flagstaff hill and surrounging area and athlestone, salsbury heights golden grove etc But our opinion could change when living out there proper were going to rest for a while and take it from there. You can still get a nice house for under $400.000

Hi thanks for that, I suppose things could go either way between now and us going over, can't really do anything about it either untill out there, just can't help visiting the real estate online and dreaming, thanks Sharon.
