Hi all

I have just been on the phone to a migration company, who have told me that I do not have enough post training experience yet to apply for an independant skilled visa, but that I do have enough points for a state sponsored visa. How do you go about getting sponsored by a certain state?

Also, how do you go about finding a company to sponsor you, because every job I have looked at requires a perminent visa? Are there recruitment agencies who look and help find jobs for uk citezains or is company sponsorship just one of those things that you would be extremly lucky to find? Are most company sponsorships due to the fact that companies are re-locating their employees from the uk?

Hope you can help

Hi Simon

I am an Instrument technician working in oil, gas mining, chemical production etc. So does that mean I need to get my TRA passed before I could then go onto apply for state sponsorship? What is the criteria from a state for them to sponsor you?

Thanks

Craig

as i remember it, once you have passed skill assessment, if your skill is on the state skills list, you just have to show you have done some reserch on the state, way of life ect, have you thought about the effect moving to aus will have on all family members, what you have done to reserch jobs. a little about you finances to show you can support your self while looking for work, quite a range of subjects but not to much detail needed.

with you job it may be worth contacting employment agencies for employers looking to sponsor, agencies can be found at www.yellowpages.com.au.

Hi simon

Thanks for the help, I will look at the link you have posted. Is there a way to find out what states (if any) would be willing to sponsor us?

Your agent should apply for this on your behalf, as long as your skill is on the states list its quite easy (i think).

We have just been told we didnt have enough points for the 175 visa and to go on a 176 which is a state sponsored visa but now weve been told that as my OT changed jobs 2 years ago and this job is not on the list we now have to apply for the 475 visa which is temp for 3 years.

This is all so complicated.
