Moving companies and banking

Hi,

 

Have not been on for a while,but we have had an offer on the house which means we will be able to make the move before oue visa (136 PR) runs out on July 5th 2012.

This is great news but will be cutting it a bit fine,and we have so much to do and sort out.Could anyone advise on the best removal/shipping companies to use,Also which banks are the best in Australia,with the best services rates etc.We want to open an account before wew go.

We are using John massons there prices are really good and we got our accounts opened with NAB they don't charge any monthly fees like the others do. Hope this helps

Hi,

 

We have had quotes from White&Co, Pickfords, John Masons and Robinsons quote is due Monday. Pickfords was by far the most expensive White&Co and John Masons were within 2-3k. If Robinsons come in with something decent we will probably use them as they were extremely pleasant and helpful.

 

Banks we have opened up a NAB account already and setup an account with Moneycorp to transfer the money over and to put regular amounts in until we move. If you tell them that you are on POMS in Adelaide you get discount as well from Moneycorp.

We have just used Anglo-Pacific for our move, they were competitively priced and really looked after our stuff.

We had a part container and therefore had to wait a little longer, but we were really impressed by them.

They have a smashing lady in their office called Iwona, she really was a big help when we were all of a dither!

 

We bank with ANZ, they're OK and we transfer money back on occasion without too much of a fuss.
