Just wanted to share our excitement that we are all set and ready to leave "sunny" UK to "rainy" Oz on the 26th of August. Most things are now sorted, just waiting for our house in the UK to complete (next week hopefully), giving us our pocket money for OZ and to pay a few final bills then its off we go. Visas came through on Monday and Kathleen had several job offers last week/this week. We are coming via Melbourne (family visit) but arrive in Adelaide on the 1st September - coming with Quantas (for first time) and trying out their premium economy as a treat.
Staying for the first few weeks in Woodcroft until a longer term rental can be secured, I start my job at UniSA on the 10th, Kathleen starts her nursing job the same week. Dogs get sent out at the end of September and should be with us at the end of October. Car nearly sorted for when we arrive and another nearly agreed as a longer term solution. Just can't wait to get there and start doing all those things you can't really organise before arrival. We can't believe that after only agreeing to make the move at the end of February that we are now nearly there. We have been very lucky with house sales, car sales, jobs etc. We are trying to take that as a sign "it is meant to be".
Wanted to say a big thank you to the PIA community and without the info, advice and suggestions provided on the forums we would not be halfway to making the move.
All becoming very real now!! All the best for those also about to make the move and for those just starting the process (keep working hard)
