what is centrelink?

can some one please tell me what is "centrelink" in Aussie/Adealaide(if it is state level)?

what are the merits and demerits of that for a new coming family on PR visa.

Should be able to find the answers to your questions there with regard to entitlements etc. It will redirect you to their new site but I wanted you to see it was the actual centrelink link. If that makes sense.

Centrelink is a federal Govt Office which provides almost all services to the Citizens/residents. As the name says itself, it "links centrally" all info together. They provide assistance to citizens/residents/families/youths/unemployed/retirees/aged people and so on. All of your details are available with them like your annual income, family status, address, visa status, eligibilities et ctc.
