Speeding points...

Hello Lovely people

Got a query and please give your feed back /advice..

We have received speeding ticket for hubby in post today. They have advised that we need to pay fine and demerit points might apply. The query is that hubby stills has got his uk licence so what does licence authority do about demerit points for uk licence holders? Another query do having speeding points on the licence affect out insurance premium?

Any feedback is appreciated..

Thanks for your time guys.

I think (stress think) being a UK license, you will just get a fine and no points. You pay more for your insurance here on a UK license than an Aus one. You certainly do with Youi.

If you have been here more than 3 months and have not transfered your licence into am OZ one you could be in trouble you have only 3 months in which to change licence over. Not sure what the penatly is for it.When we first came over if you did not change over within 3 months you had to re-sit your test and not allowed to drive till you got the oz licence not sure if it is still the same It will not affect your insurance that if your insurance is valid if you do not have an OZ licence, You would be better getting your Oz licence fixed out ASAP.
