I am new on this forum. I am eligible to apply for 887 from 487 visa with in a week and half just need to get some information. I looked at one of the thread in which some one posted his documents screen shots. I was showing language requirements as one of the section there. I gave an IELTS more than two years before and now it has been expired. I contacted DIAC and they advised me that as was a primary applicant on 487 visa, I don't have to do IELTS again. But couldn't give me a proper answer about my wife IELTS.
Just a quick question as my wife is a dependent on 487 visa does she has to do IELTS again?
What could be the charges if she doesn't have to give IELTS again?
Hi hara and Mel I apply on 22 April and I have state sponsor co allotted on Friday and I have too submit form 80 and 1221 then I submit on Saturday and I got my approval on Monday morning about 10:30.
Congrats for your pr. Can you please provide details of your documents which you submitted.and was you in family sponsored or state sponsor before.[/QUOTE]
IELTS for the secondary applicant is only required if she hasn't paid the visa second installment. Which is the money you pay if any of your family members over 18 years cannot acheive the functunal english level in the IELTS test, functional english level is about 4.5.
So If you have alread paid the second visa installment for your first visa, in your case 487, you won't need to submit IELTS for your wife.
If you need any more info please let us know.
Hi akn, it is wrong, there is no such a thing as a first in first out within DIAC otherwise I've got my visa long time ago(I applied on August 2012). But I wish you luck. Cheers.
