Hi

I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to help me with the following:

With the 175 visa do you have to work in the area you have undertaken a skills assessment in, or can you chose your career path freely in australia?

Would appreciate your help.

Cheers

With the 175 visa do you have to work in the area you have undertaken a skills assessment in,

You can get a 175 as a nurse and on arrival work in a tyre shop.;) You are not tied into the job your skill was assessed in let alone the state it was in.

In case it interests anyone, at the meeting immigration SA arrange for new arrivals each month (new service) we were told that the requirement for sir495 visa holders to work in the trade they came as has now been removed, so you can come as a painter and decorator and work in a coffee shop.:)
