plumbers licence

Hi all, me my wife and 7yr old son will be hopefully coming over oct time, on the SS 489 visa. Medicals done, police checks sent just waiting for them. Just would like some info about plumbers licence can i work as well as doing the course, do i need to do it through an employer, can i apply before we come over? cheers x:err:

As far as I can make out from some plumbers over here is that you can get your restricted licence straight away you can get a job but you will be treated like an apprentice or have to work under supervision. I have heard It is hard to get a job until you have your full licence but not impossible . Read the plumbing thread will give you contacts at Tafe and will let you know what its like.
