just a quicky

have just completed on line visa application, left credit card details & got TRN number.

It now says before you exit you must complete the following steps.

step 1 is genaral skilled migration checklist [required]

What do we have to do now?

do you scan your documents and send them via e-mail or do you need to get copies certified by a notary & post them.

Hi Dave,

Make a note of your TRN number. You can attach your documents now or later. You don't need to get them certified because they except colour scans of the originals.

Have another look at the info and it tells you how to do this via links.

Any probs pm Trakki and she will pm you the links if you can't find them.

cheers Pete.

we will scan all docs as per list then e-mail them as attachments.

You should have a link to attach them online rather than emailing them. They also have to be a certain DPI though the number escapes me for the moment.

Hi Pete

Got e-mail confirmation this morning giving a list of items to send. Is it correct that scanned documents don't need certifying.

they also are asking for copies of medicals & criminal records, I thought you sent these when your case officer asked for them.

If you scan original documents in colour, at the dpi suggested then no you don't need to get them certified.

As for meds and PCs you can get them done anytime between now or when asked for by the case officer. The thing is if you get them done before the CO asks then you will speed up the process. The case officer will look at your file and see everything is in order and pass it on to the decission maker. This can save you quite a bit of time. However, whatever you do first PCs or meds the final date of entry to Oz will be one year from this date. So do them too early and you will have a smaller amount of time to enter Oz or you may run out of time but this is unlikely.

We did our meds and PCs a month after lodging the visa last November. We got our case officer at the begining of March so now just waiting for the nod.
