How to get answers from Immi

Has any one any idea how to get a response from Immigration Department? Son has application for resident return visa (Started process Jan 2010) Request for medical and current Police check received 24/5/13. Medical done 15/6, 24/6 clinic advised medical submitted online to Oz. 10/7 posted Police Certificate to Perth office as requested. Two emails to case officer, 18/7 & 22/7 requesting confirmation of receipt of item posted - No Reply!!! And yes we are the nominated persons for contact.

Welcome to the forum. You could try phoning them. They can at least look on the system and confirm receipt (you'd hope). Good luck.

Tried phoning - would not talk to us even though we are nominated to receive mail.

As far as I understand it, if it had to be signed for when delivered, then that is your proof of receipt.

Do you mean RRV resident return visa as stated, if so why the medical etc and long processing time.

 

Or do you mean RRV remaining resident visa, which makes more sense.

Resident return visa. Emigrated as a child and returned to UK without getting a resident return visa. Now years later wants to come back home to live. Basically has had to go through the whole process again. Complicated by working in other countries and having to provide Police Certificates for every country worked in for the past 10 years, took nearly a year to get FBI clearance from USA.

Yes, agent is based in Adelaide and must say has done a marvellous job. Immigration at one stage sent emails and letters to wrong addresses even though they confirmed receipt of changes. Just seems to be one big shemozzle

Well that is why they won't correspond with you, they are only supposed to go through the agent. Maybe get them to chase it up?

The agent has finalised his authority with Immigration as they were only assisting with some legal issues. All correspondence comes to us direct, we will be emailing the case officer again tomorrow.

Lodge a FoI (Freedom of Information) request for the entire DIAC file.

 

If everyone who is unable to get a straight answer, or any answer from the DIAC did this they might review their communication strategy.

Finally got an email reply, 8th August, the CO was on leave so it seems we will just have to keep waiting.

Nearly the end of September and still waiting......
