Questions about new passports after getting visa.
Having got our visa last week, we have had to get new passports for ourselves due to travelling through USA enroute to Australia. This is because we were advised that biometric passports are required for entry into the USA and our old passports were not biometric.
Our question is (for anyone else who has had to get a new passport after getting their visa), how long does it take for them to update your passport details in Australian Immigration? Are we talking a few days or longer?
We are hoping to travel down to Australia House in London later on this week/ early next week to get our visas put into our passports on the day but can't do this until Australian Immigration have updated their system with our new passport details.
Any help with any of our questions greatly appreciated!

Just carry both passports. You can use the old ones with the visa in alongside the new ones.
Can you do this with the childrens passports too? Theirs are due for the second five years next year and I thought I might have to get a new visa put into theirs. It would be so much easier if you could just use the two passports together for the visa. But is there a time limit to doing this?
Hi - Can i ask who you're flying with and how much were your flights? We are definitely going to stop-over somewhere and are keen on the States... however when looking in to flights they seem much more pricey than stopping off the otherside, i.e: Asia.
Sorry this is not to do with passports!
