housing grants will they be replaced

Hi

General enquiry as the housing grants are stopping at the end of the month. Just wanted to check

Are the first time buyers grant and buying a new home both stopping at the end of the month?

Are the grants going to.be replaced?

 

Hoping something else will come

Hi

 

There are essentially two grants in place at the moment.

 

First Home Owners Grant (FHOG):

There is an amount of $5,000 for established homes (caps apply) and is due to cease as Anne B points out from 1 July 2014.

 

For new/ly built homes there is an amount of $15,000 (caps apply) with no end date as yet.

 

 

Housing Construction Grant (HCG):

This is an amount of $8,500 (caps apply) for new/ly built properties and is open to anyone not just first home buyers.

 

This was due to expire on June 30 this year (2013) but was extended until the end of Dec 2013 (it may or may not be extended further, no announcements yet at this stage).
