Anyone know how to get round balance of family requirement? Have 3 children all living in different countries but only 1 in Oz. Anyone else have same experience?

I don't think there is a way round it, DIAC rules are pretty strict. I think you will have to look at a different visa.

Sorry - the balance of family requirement is non-negotiable for parent visas.

 

The solution is to encourage sufficient children to move to Australia!

Our plan was to go on a parent visa but we were advised after consulting an agent that the waiting times for parent visas are huge so they took our information and advised us that a skilled migrant visa would be an alternative for us, so this is what we did. Could it be that you could look at an alternative visa? Maybe it would be worth having a consultation with an agent who would be able to properly assess your options?
