My wife and I want to join our 2 children and only grandchild, but my wife is a diabetic type 2. The 864 visa seems quicker but we cannot afford to pay the $43600 each for the second payment only to find she has failed her medical for the visa. I don't know if the 804 visa would be better so could someone please advise us what is the best way to go.

i was type 2 on insulin and came over on a permanent resident visa, there was no problem whatsoever with the medical. All your partner needs to do is make sure her HBA1C blood test shows good control.......feel free to mail me if you need any more details but it shouldn't be an issue :)
