U.K. birth certificates? Will the short one be accepted

Hi all

 

i am applying for a 189 visa and I have both birth certificates, the long and short one.

my husband only has the short birth certificate (I am applying for the visa) will this be accepted?

has anyone applied for a visa using a short birth certificate? Was it accepted?

 

i would be so grateful of any replies, the speedier the better. I want to send all the stuff off tomorrow

I thought it had to be full birth certificates.

 

They don't cost much if you need to get an official copy.

We had to apply for the full certificates for all of us since the adults were the old style which are not accepted and the children's were the short ones. Doesn't cost much and we got the marriage certificate done at the same time. Takes about three weeks if I remember correctly. You can apply on line or phone them up.

I just sent my husband's short certificate and very ragged and it was accepted for our 489 visa.

My short certificate was accepted.

You may find its accepted just be aware the 189 visa document checklist states a birth certficate showing the names of both parents. I don't think my short version had my parents names and info on but the full birth cert did. I checked my sons also, its more recent and his short one doesn't have our names on it but his full one does.

Scanned colour copy of your birth registration, and that of all people included in the application, showing the names of both parents.

Mine was rejected for being a short one, had to order a new full one. Wasn't a problem, only took a few days to get.

Some people cannot get a long one.
