U.K. birth certificates? Will the short one be accepted

Recommended Posts

Hi all

i am applying for a 189 visa and I have both birth certificates, the long and short one.

my husband only has the short birth certificate (I am applying for the visa) will this be accepted?

has anyone applied for a visa using a short birth certificate? Was it accepted?

i would be so grateful of any replies, the speedier the better. I want to send all the stuff off tomorrow

thanks in advance

You may find its accepted just be aware the 189 visa document checklist states a birth certficate showing the names of both parents. I don't think my short version had my parents names and info on but the full birth cert did. I checked my sons also, its more recent ;) and his short one doesn't have our names on it but his full one does.

Documents to show identity

Scanned colour copy of your birth registration, and that of all people included in the application, showing the names of both parents.
